Jigging rods are mostly used for Pelagic fishes, some people also use them as trolling rods. Jigging rods require a parabolic action; that will help you to move the jig faster with less fatigue. Jigging is the way to fish vertically, a good jigging rods are normally shorter and made with graphite or carbon fiber material, allowing a maximum of strenght without losing flexibility. We have almost tested all our jigging rods in real situation during jigging tournament in Mexico (Amberjack, Tuna, wahoo...) We do not recommend other kind of rods when you practice jigging, they are simply not made for that, too long, too stiff, not made to manipulate 6-7oz jigs or simply not strong enough to hold fishes.
